Signed Confession- Who Cares

Apparently in Luzerne County a confession isn't worth the paper it is written on. SOP previously reported on a theft in the Prothonotary's Office at the Luzerne County Courthouse. Today Micahel Buffer of the Citizen's Voice is reporting that the person who admitted to stealing by signing a confession did not have employment terminated by the County.

Medico Olenginski, who did not identify the suspended employee, said she was reviewing the situation with her solicitor, Sam Stretton. The county is still providing the suspended employee with health benefits, and union employees cannot be fired until there is a termination hearing, Medico Olenginski said.

"This is unacceptable," Medico Olenginski said. "Someone has stolen money and signed a confession."

Medico Olenginski interviewed on WBRE stated the money missing appears to be more than origianlly expected.

It is going to take decades before Luzerne County can earn any respect for being a positive government role model. C'mon I'm only kidding. We all know LC is a positive stole model.
