McGruffaroni - with that Buffalo plane crash, I'm not debating whether or not ice can bring a plane down, I'm questioning why all the initial stories said the crew radioed in "no problems"...then the story shifted late in the day to "a federal official said the crew discussed ice".
The reports I saw didn't say the crew radioed in "no problems." It stated that the crew did not report any problems to air traffic control. The plane just crashed.

The reports about the crew discussing ice came from the black box, not the audio of the controller's room. Again, within the cockpit, not to air traffic control.
