Is Kanjorski hurting children’s education for a television commercial shoot?
HAZLETON – In light of published stories that 26-year incumbent Congressman Paul Kanjorski will hold a re-election rally at a public school in Nanticoke on Tuesday, Lou Barletta asked the following question:
“Is Congressman Kanjorski closing school early so he can film a campaign commercial inside a public school? Is Mr. Kanjorski making the parents, grandparents, and guardians of Greater Nanticoke Area alter their daily schedule so he can be filmed with former President Clinton?
"If he is, that’s a shameful waste of a school day and a tremendous inconvenience for the parents, grandparents, and guardians of Greater Nanticoke Area. I would hope Mr. Kanjorski would strongly consider moving his commercial shoot to a location that does not cost students a day of education and does not cost the taxpayers of Greater Nanticoke Area.”:
The question I have in this particular federal race is whether there is an in-kind contribution is a consideration for the use of the school in this event. Federal races have many different rules than state races. I guess it is okay to keep God out of our schools but Bill Clinton is more than welcome.
