Obama Administration Approves First Direct Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Through New High-Risk Insurance Pools
Wednesday, July 14, 2010
By Susan Jones, Senior Editor
(CNSNews.com) - If you want proof that President Obama's Executive Order on taxpayer-funded abortion was a sham, look no further than Pennsylvania, says House Republican Leader John Boehner (Ohio).
Boehner and other Republicans point to reports that the Health and Human Services Department is giving Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new high-risk insurance pool that will cover any abortion that is legal in the state.
"The fact that the high-risk pool insurance program in Pennsylvania will use federal taxpayer dollars to fund abortions is unconscionable," Boehner said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Just last month at the White House, I asked President Obama to provide the American people with a progress report on the implementation of his Executive Order, which purports to ban taxpayer-funding of abortions. Unfortunately, the President provided no information, and the American people are still waiting for answers."
Ask your legislator where they stand on this issue? More importantly ask them why they didn't tell you they were seeking this permission?

More Mellow Arrogance And Entitlement
While discussing certain politicians with a former Hazleton Area School Board member I was searching for the right description of their arrogant actions. Where is Steven Segal when you need him?
One local council member complained when he found out that he was losing his health insurance paid for by taxpayers including those that don't have health insurance. Term- Just More Entitlement
A state legislator will not listen to you when you talk to him. He already "knows everything" and WILL TELL YOU that even though you are the person with the degree in the area of knowledge his four year political science degree makes him an authority on everything. Term- Narcissistic Entitlement
A senator can pay himself an exhorbitant amount of rent and dismisses the situation as "No harm, No foul." In today's Times Tribune BORYS KRAWCZENIUK sheds light on Senator Mellow's campaign practice to routinely write checks to "cash".
Over the past nine years, state Senate Minority Leader Robert J. Mellow's chief campaign committee paid more than $188,000 in checks made out to "cash," without disclosing who received the money and, in many cases, exactly what the money was used for - despite a state election law that specifically calls for complete disclosure.
"The payments to cash" - an issue not unique to the Archbald Democrat, although his committee has issued by far the most checks to "cash" of any committee statewide - raise questions about the state's ability and interest in enforcing the state campaign finance law, as well as in whose pockets contributions ultimately wind up.
The cavalier attitude on the part of the Department of State as well as his campaign workers just demonstrates the type of insulation that politicians feel they have in the power of incumbency.
SOP is not surprised at the questionable ethics involved in these situations. There are no shocking revelations here. What is missing are core family values taught at an early age.
How many times did our parents tell us our actions are wrong? Their observations didn't mean, as children, we need to go to jail or be arrested.(Even Ciavarella found that out the hard way.) It just meant we needed to correct our behaviors.
Mellow's answer to his rental circumstances was "I did nothing wrong." When Todd Eachus is asked about Bonusgate he keeps telling people he "did nothing wrong" despite court filings that prove otherwise.
Power corrupts absolutely. We use the term power broker. The real power brokers are the voters but they just don't get it.
According to Rasmussen Reportsthe latest national telephone survey shows that 83% now view government ethics and corruption as very important, placing it just ahead of the economy on a list of 10 key electoral issues regularly tracked..
This is the first time since October 2007 that voters have rated ethics and corruption as more important than the economy. Voters viewed the two issues evenly in November and December 2007 before placing a higher priority on the economy starting in January 2008.
Last month, 86% of voters said economic issues were very important while 80% saw government ethics that way.
The new findings come at a time when 43% of voters say the president is doing a poor job addressing government ethics and reducing corruption, up five points from early September and the highest level measured since he took office. Forty percent (40%) now give the president good or excellent ratings on his handling of the issue.
Make sure you go the polls this coming Tuesday and exercise your right to rid corruption. SOP is not surprised by this statement in the Rasmussen Report. While Republicans and voters not affiliated with either party rank ethics and corruption as the most important issue, Democrats put health care at the top of the list.
Health care is an important issue but you won't get the right bill with the right provisions if you don't deal with ethics and corruption. Remember that promise Obama made regarding lobbyists in November, 2007, "lobbyists won't find a job in my White House". It didn't take much time for his rule to reach reality for him to break that promise. He changed the name from White House to Open House with noted celebreties and lobbyists given access.
It is no wonder that politicians like Eachus and Mellow snub their noses at the constituency. Power equals privilege. Tuesday teach politicians that the privilege only starts if the voters allow it.

Here's Bobby- An Acorn of Sorts
To say that Senator Robert Casey has had a bad couple of says may be an understatement. A couple of amateur journalists accomplish what the Yellow Stream Media(forget drive-by, Rush already trademarked that name) refused to do after the last election. ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, was accused of voter fraud during the most recent national election. There were repeated reports of criminal investigations against the organization.
If you go to BigGovernment.com you can watch the videos that expose the truth about the corruption within the organization. ACORN not only had its pants pulled down in public but I'm not sure whether they were wearing any underwear. Prostitutes are used to being naked and, it seems, ACORN representatives facilitate that behavior. Locations in Baltimore, Washington D.C., New York, and San Bernadino, CA. were targets of the novice investigators. In each case similar unacceptable, no unbelievable, advice was given to the fuax "professionals."
Evidently Senator Casey doesn't get out much. On Friday the Census Bureau severed ties with ACORN after allegations surfaced when the videos were launched nationwide.
Census Bureau spokesman Stephen Buckner said officials in the bureau, which is part of the Department of Commerce, had been concerned with news reports about ACORN for awhile and “had been monitoring them.”
Buckner said recent videotapes posted on BigGovernment.com and broadcast on Fox News -- showing a young man and young woman pretending to be a pimp and prostitute, declaring themselves such and apparently able to secure the help of ACORN employees in Washington D.C. , and Baltimore, in obtaining housing – was “the tipping point.”
On Monday the Senate voted 83-7 to deny funds to ACORN but Bob Casey was one of the seven who wanted ACORN to continue receiving our hard earned money so they could continue to support tax evasion.
Today the White House calls ACORN employees' behavior unacceptable. But you gotta love Robert Gibbs. He should be DJ Spinmeister.
Gibbs said the Census Bureau decided that ACORN could not assist the group in meeting "the bureau's goal of achieving a fair and accurate count in 2010" and that some other agencies are evaluating their relationship with the group. "We constantly evaluate to ensure that any grantee is living up to what has to happen in order to fulfill that grant application."
He pointed out that "previous administrations" had awarded grants to ACORN either through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Uhh..Gibbs...the Administration can't spend what the Congress and Senate did not fund and authorize with legislation. Even you don't get paid without legislative action. Speaking of past adminstrations authorizing watch the following video where Casey is proud of the funding he provided to ACORN and LA RAZA. I did a fact check and Bob Casey is not George Bush although Gibbs hanging participle almost worked.
For those of you that may not know La Raza is a great supporter of illegal immigration regardless of their claims to the contrary.
My other observation- Obama gets called out by Illinois Congressman Luis Guiterrez (D)for barring undocumented immigrants from purchase healthcare coverage in the government exchange. Senator Jay Rockefller(D) bails on Senator Baucus's(D) proposal for healthcare. Senator Robert Casey (D) votes for continued funding of ACORN while the Whitehouse blasts ACORN. Are the D's in disarray less than 10 months into this presidency or is it me?
Back to Bobby. Here's is the keynote speaker for the 2007 ACORN national convention held in Columbus, Ohio .

Al Roker Recieves Eggplant From The White House
Did anyone see this video today? Al Roker gets an official "eggplant" from the White House pastry chef. Mulunyan or Melanzana are Italian for eggplant and used as racial slurs to denote black persons(African-American). I wonder why this presentation wasn't more closely scrutinized by the White House.

Why Are Your Tax Dollars Paying For the White House’s ‘Limbaugh Strategy’?
According to Martin, an unidentified “senior White House aide” has been given the responsibility of “helping to guide the Limbaugh strategy,” a very scary thing indeed.
A political operative, based inside the White House, employed by the president of the United States and receiving a salary from the American taxpayer, goes to work every day to help direct a strategy against a broadcaster whose opinions are supposed to be covered by every protection the First Amendment can provide. To quote Shakespeare, “Something is rotten.”
For the White House to employ an operative whose responsibility is, fundamentally, to direct a political strategy aimed, not at shaping is response to criticism but to take down a single media figure goes well beyond of the pale of an acceptable response.
The American people have a right to know who this person is, what their duties are and how much they are paid. And the White House press corps has the responsibility to ask the questions that will get us the answers to these questions. This is not a matter of idle curiosity; it is a question of power, and tax dollars, being abused.
Doesn't this situation sound like Bonusgate???

Paul Kanjorski as Alexander Haig????
Click to view Congressman Kanjorskion CNBC's Squawk Box talking about the economic crisis. Today Paul Kanjorski couldn't wait to get in front of the camera to talk about the deal brokered to solve the out of control financial crisis. He called it "Tremendous progress" and " We've been working for six days to put the bill together to get that accomplished and I would say we have done that..It's almost an accomplished fact that they have done that..they are going to negotiate some fine points between the House and the Senate." He says of the Presidential Candidates.."the faster they can get out of the White House and get back up to the Hill... We'll have the bill done." He continues his criticism of the Presidential Candidates..."They are a delaying force. We know what has to go into the bill..We have negotiated very hard..It's been responsive from both sides..We have the bill basically complete. All we have to do is a sign of...Of this posturing Oh My God we need all the help of these people coming in."
All of this rhetoric reminds me of Alexander Haig. In 1981, after the March 30 assassination attempt on Reagan, Haig asserted before reporters "I'm in control here" as a result of Reagan's hospitalization.
“ Constitutionally, gentlemen, you have the President, the Vice President and the Secretary of State in that order, and should the President decide he wants to transfer the helm to the Vice President, he will do so. He has not done that. As of now, I am in control here, in the White House, pending return of the Vice President and in close touch with him. If something came up, I would check with him, of course." Rather than being seen as an attempt to allay the nation's fear, the quotation became seen as an attempt by Haig to exceed his authority.
Kanjorski is so far behind in the latest poll for a 24 year incumbent that he is desparate to bring any type of good news to the public. Paul, reparations for Cornerstone come this way. "I apologize to the American people for the failure that happened at Cornerstone." It would be harebrained to expect such a declaration of guilt. He refused to apologize to the American troops in Iraq for lying to the public about the real effort that would have been put forth in Congress to end the war and bring our ladies and men home, our families together once again.
His declaration of a deal brokered to end the financial crisis was premature and self serving. The audacity in a techological world of information validates the findings of the Franklin and Marshall poll. "DesRECD. Do you believe that Paul Kanjorski has done a good enough job in the U.S. House of Representatives to DESERVE RE-ELECTION, or do you believe it is TIME FOR A CHANGE?
35% Deserves re-election 54% Time for a change
